Who we advise

US companies building in Mexico

For US manufacturers, investors and operating companies opening a plant, acquiring a supplier or moving production south.

The situation

Mexico rewards the companies that sequence it well.

Most US companies arrive in Mexico with a business plan, a site shortlist and a launch date. What they need next is a legal sequence: the operating model, the entity, the contracts, the trade regime and the workforce, decided in the order that keeps the launch on schedule and the liabilities where they belong.

Joaquín is the primary contact for US companies establishing operations in Mexico. He works from Dallas with the firm’s team in Mexico City, so the conversation happens in English, under US expectations, with Mexican law applied by lawyers who practice it every day.

Questions we hear

Frequently asked

How long does it take to set up a Mexican entity?

Incorporation itself is usually a matter of weeks. The critical path is normally the site, permits and trade registrations, which is why we plan them together from the start.

Can we operate without our own Mexican company?

Yes, through shelter or contract manufacturing arrangements. Each option changes control, tax exposure and liability, and we compare them with you before you commit.

Do you work with our US counsel?

Yes. We regularly coordinate with in-house teams and US law firms, and Joaquín is licensed in Texas as well as admitted in Mexico.

Tell us what is at stake.

Every engagement begins with a private conversation with Joaquín.
